If we’re honest, COVID-19 forced most of us into broadcasting, whether we knew anything about broadcasting or not. On one hand, we can be thankful for the internet—in much the same way that the Roman highways literally paved the way for the early church to easily and quickly spread the gospel among the known world, the internet allows just about any church of any size send their content to anyone on the planet with an internet connection. Broadcasting is no longer the domain of big churches with big pockets or television-specific ministries like PTL, TBN, and CBN.
But we all know the internet isn’t the perfect medium, especially if your connection is dicey at times, a familiar situation in many smaller churches, particularly in rural areas. But what if a sometimes unstable connection wasn’t that much of a problem?
Not only does Resi offer unshakable streaming stability, but Resi also seamlessly integrates with YouTube, Facebook, TV apps, and websites...
“The best way that I could describe Resi is that they are the content delivery network you wish you had.”
That’s Will Chapman, the Online Minister and Cottonwood Creek Church, the host church for Capture Summit ‘23. Marcel Patillo caught up with Will during the summit and learned how Cottonwood Creek relies on Resi for their broadcast.
“One of the main problems we had,” Will continues, “is that our online congregation would give us feedback regarding problems where they would be watching a worship service, and then all of a sudden a connection issue would happen with the live stream. We needed to go with a solution that allowed somebody, no matter what resolution or bandwidth they had, to see, watch, and participate online and not have to worry about [internet] hiccups.”
To fix this issue, Will started talking to Resi to see what they could do for Cottonwood Creek. “Their approach to encoding and delivery is really key. When we were investigating them several years back, they were educating us about RSP, the Resilient Streaming Protocol. And what it does is it provides a way to be able to account for the bandwidth that any person is connecting to our stream with, the way that a person is able to interact with that stream with the same amount of connectivity no matter where [they are]...and not have to experience all the little hiccups and interruptions that can happen with different internet service providers and switches.
Not only does Resi offer unshakable streaming stability, but Resi also seamlessly integrates with YouTube, Facebook, TV apps, and websites, all managed through Resi Studio, their access-from-anywhere web UI.
