It may not have been an obvious choice for blended worship services, but in the end the new L-Acoustics L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound Technology was the specification choice for Atlanta's Mount Paran Church.
The multi-channel system, combined with L-Acoustics’ A Series loudspeakers, became a problem solver that helped the church achieve consistent coverage in its auditorium, where much of the seating is in the balcony.

Sitelines were a major issue since traditional left-right line arrays blocked large sections of the newly installed LED walls. L-Acoustics' A Series loudspeakers, coupled with the company's L-ISA technology, offered an elegant, effective solution with even coverage and consistent colors across the seating area, denoting a small deviation in decibels.
Initially, the church looked at a left-right line array loudspeaker configuration to replace its 15-year-old loudspeaker system. Sightline problems blocking views of the large, newly installed LED walls removed line arrays from consideration. Other systems and configurations proved unworkable until L-Acoustics' Josh Maichele, applications engineer and house of worship specialist, suggested trying a design using L-ISA. The coverage simulations worked and the church moved forward with the project.
Following the installation, David Mendoza, technical director at Mount Paran Church, Tim Corder, director of strategic accounts for house of worship at Kenilworth, N.J.-based Diversified, the project's integrator, and L-Acoustics’ Josh Maichele discuss the results in this video conversation with Brian Blackmore of Church Production Magazine and DAVE.video.
