Woodlands Church in The Woodlands, Texas is not your mom-and-pop kind of worship. It's definitely rock and roll, it's high energy, it's people participating in singing and just really getting engaged in the worship. As part of Church Production’s Road Test User Experience Cue allowed them to try out the Cue Fansee! Audience Engagement Software.
“Yeah, so we recently had the opportunity to use the Fansee! software at a live event and it was a youth event,” explains Woodlands Church Associate Media Pastor Dave Marks. “So, we had 2000 students. The Fansee! software really allowed the pastors to engage with the students prior to the event starting. They were basically just asking the students, ‘Hey, let's see your group!’ and we put it up on the screen, and then sometimes they would ask them, ‘Hey, whoever has a blue T-shirt on, let's see it!’ So, it allowed for not just individuals, but it allowed for groups of kids to interact and to be up on the screen and for the pastors to recognize them.”
Cue’s Fansee! software allows the participants in the audience to live stream a selfie to the production room or OB truck, and then at that point, producers can pick and choose who goes up on the screen. It's a unique platform that really engages the audience in a very unique way. Woodlands is now taking the concept to their livestream audience.
“We stream live our service, so what we're going to have is the ability that people who are watching the stream all over the world can download the QR code, and down at the bottom as we bring them up, it will say what country or what city they're from. So, it's just a way of giving people who are streaming live a way to see other people and how they're doing church.”
And Marks says he sees a lot of potential for this software in multi-campus churches. “I think other churches could utilize this platform that have multiple campuses as just the way of connecting everyone from campus to campus making them feel like, yeah, we're all one church and they're all experiencing the same thing at the same time.”
