Church Tech Leaders is a community of full-time, part-time, and volunteer church technical artists serving in their local church throughout the United States and internationally.
In 2009 Bill Swaringim (TechArts Director, The Crossing, St. Louis, MO) gathered a small group of church technical directors to form the Church Technical Directors Round Table (CTDRT). This group was established as a community to serve full time technical ministry leaders. In April 2010, the CTDRT launched an online community focused on supporting part-time and volunteer technical artists called Church Technical Artists Network (CTANonline). Both online communities are based on fostering relationships amongst its members, facilitating peer learning, and encouraging synergy through the sharing of ideas.
The end result combined both resources under one organization as Church Technical Leaders.
CTDRT hosted over 15 local and regional Round Table events and Bill invited Dennis Choy (Production Pastor, North Coast Church, Vista, CA) and Jeff VanderGiessen (former Production Technology Director, Mars Hill Church, Seattle, WA) to join him to better serve the members of CTDRT and CTANonline. Together, they have invested many hours of prayer and planning, structuring the organization and planning initiatives for this community of leaders and artists. The end result combined both resources under one organization as Church Technical Leaders.
Church Technical Leaders continues to be a resource led by full-time church technical leaders, pursuing the mission of fostering relationships among members; equipping leaders by facilitating peer learning, and encouraging synergy through the sharing of ideas. “Our ministry is wrapping our arms around serving the local church through the technical arts. This is the beginning of a new journey and we look forward to seeing what God has in store!”
