“When I tell you that this is next level precision manufacturing, it is next level. Coming from some smaller tripods, we are never going back. They have entirely changed our production value and our production,” says Daniel Bender, the broadcast video director at The Belonging Co. church in Nashville, Tennessee.
This product demo was a game changer for the production team at As part of a Church Production Road Test User Experience, Cartoni sent the The Belonging Co. its Master 65 Fluid Head Camera Support System with Sport 200 tripod legs.
This heavy-duty fluid head can support cameras from 44 pounds all the way up to 192 pounds. While the Sport 200 legs support around 440 pounds. Bender and his team used the system for about six weeks in several different camera setups in their main auditorium that seats about 1,300 people.
“We had a Red V-Raptor XL with the Canon 50-1000mm lens with a matte box on the end. That whole payload weighs about 45 to 50 pounds, so it's right towards the bottom of the weight range for the head and it performed beautifully,” Bender explains.
He says going to a tripod system that weighs 45-50 pounds from a tripod system that weighs eight pounds was a huge difference. He enthuses that the Cartoni tripod legs are rock solid and the head is all metal, which made the video rock solid.
“We had a few different volunteers come up and use the tripod and there was no jerk and no lag when they were tracking whoever was speaking up on stage. Even using the servo zoom on the 50-1000 lens -having a bigger tripod system allows you to make those zooms a lot smoother. And so, this was absolutely night and day better,” he concludes.
