"Across the Table" with Blaine Hogan, Creative Director, Willow Creek Community Church
Blaine Hogan shares his philosophy on filmmaking for the church, along with how he starts each film project for Willow Creek in this new series of videos presented by Canon and produced by Church Production Magazine and Spiritfilm.
Church creatives and technical team leaders have a story to tell. In the first of a three-part video series called "Across the Table" sponsored by Canon, Church Production interviews Blaine Hogan, creative director at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill.
Hogan shares his philosophy on filmmaking for the church, along with how he starts each film project for Willow Creek. "You need to collect ideas--before you need them," he suggests.
He also shares personal insight into curation, or the collecting and sorting of content. He suggests starting with this question: "What's the story, and what's the best way to tell it?" Then, how do you craft a timeline for production and lead a church film team through it?
Shot by Woody Davis, a former church tech, filmmaker and visual artist for Spiritfilm based in Raleigh, N.C., Church Production and Canon give you a glimpse into the creative craft of one of the church world's top filmmakers.
