Mark Carrao has a backstory. It’s a raw life experience that probably helps the tech director tell heartfelt stories especially well through the technical ministry he serves at Elmbrook Church in greater Milwaukee.
In this second segment of the video series, “Across the Table,” sponsored by Canon, Carrao talks of his high school years, drug dealing, and his journey to find meaning in life. When he found Scripture, he shares, he learned the power of surrendering, and “God lifted off the burden.”
Today, Carrao, a husband and soon-to-be father, teaches his technical teammates the importance of cultivating strong relationships, maintaining a cohesive tech team and, as a result, creating a family of volunteers.
Shot by Woody Davis, a former church tech, filmmaker and visual artist for Spiritfilm based in Raleigh, N.C., Church Production and Canon give you a glimpse into the inspirational life of one of the country’s outstanding technical directors.
