“If you have a volunteer-based production team, it won’t take very long to bring that team up-to-speed in the operation of Brompton’s processing workflow.” - Sean Sheridan, Regional Technology Manager, Americas, Brompton Technology
Q: How can Brompton Technology help churches with their video quality?
A: At Brompton Technology, our primary focus is on quality. We want to give producers, content creators, technicians, and everyone involved in LED video, the ability to get the best out of our processors. We do this by utilizing a 12-bit non-destructive video pipeline, along with high-quality image correction and color adjustment tools, like OSCA and Chromatune, to allow the content creators’ vision to be accurately conveyed on-screen.
Q: What sorts of technology trends are you expecting in the coming years?
Larger formats, like 8K and beyond, are another continuing trend that houses of worship will be looking at as congregations, spaces, and screens grow ever larger.
Video-over-IP standards like SMPTE ST 2110 will be something we’ll all be exploring, as well.
Q: What challenges is Brompton Technology addressing in the church market?
A: Large-screen LED video, in general, only helps in connecting the church’s message to its members. Especially to an always-connected, increasingly youthful audience. And our tools allow that message to be delivered as intended. And while we deliver a powerful set of hardware and software tools to accomplish this, we do it in a very intuitive way. If you have a volunteer-based production team, it won’t take very long to bring that team up to speed in the operation of Brompton’s processing workflow.
Our processors also produce great results for LED on-camera. And as churches become more and more akin to fully functional broadcast studios, this point of difference is yet another way in which we lead in the market.
Q: What new products are making a big impact in churches in 2020?
A: In all markets that utilize large screen displays, LED is taking a lot of share away from projection, and this is no different for houses of worship. You get a lot more punch out of LED, along with a substantial reduction in setup time and maintenance.
Q: What do you want churches to remember about the Brompton Technology brand?
A: Obviously, our laser focus on quality is a big talking point, as well as our ability to bring new technology to market that is stable and reliable. But also, I want everyone to know that our end-user support, before, during, and most importantly AFTER project delivery, is second-to-none in the processing space. We truly want to help our users get the best result by using our products and, while our industry-leading technology will certainly help get you there, I think our people can make the greatest difference in enabling [delivery of the] message.
