Aviom has been helping churches deliver quality performances while keeping their sanctuary volume under control since we started shipping personal monitor mixing systems in 2002.
Recently, a new problem has emerged as demand for quality production increases and performers are asked to go virtual, losing their amps and acoustic percussion instruments to modern simulators--the silent stage effect. This makes it harder for performers to feel what they’re doing, and to keep the passion in their performance.
Aviom designed the new BOOM System to address the fact that IEMs and headphones may sound great, but don’t feel great; their tiny drivers simply can’t reproduce the feel of an amplifier or acoustic drum kit.
Aviom’s BOOM-1 Tactile Transducer Processor dramatically enhances a performer's personal mixing experience by adding optimally-processed low-frequency tactile information to your in-ear or headphone monitor mix. The result is profound, and it’s barely audible.
The BOOM System concept is simple, by adding a natural feeling low-frequency tactile transducer (also known as a 'bass shaker') to your drum throne, keyboard seat, performance stool, performance platform, or even your stage floor, the body feels bass frequencies, adding realism to the mix. In reality though, it takes a lot of DSP to achieve a natural, musical feel. The BOOM-1 Tactile Transducer Processor brings Aviom-optimized DSP to the tactile experience.
Tactile transducers benefit all in-ear and headphone performers and are especially beneficial to those using electronic drum kits, and guitar and bass amp simulators. Why? Because playing an acoustic drum kit or an electric guitar or bass through an amp actually vibrates the performer’s physical surroundings and this vibration becomes part of the live performance experience and energy. When you switch to in-ears or headphones and an electronic drum kit or a modeled amp system without speaker cabinets, those natural vibrations are lost. ...Until now.
Using personal mixers and IEMs/headphones along with Aviom’s BOOM System allows performers to achieve powerful, exciting monitor mixes at lower levels. This reduces listening fatigue, allowing longer, more enjoyable performances, and promotes hearing health.
Best of all, performing with the BOOM System is WAYYY MOOOORE FUNNNNNN!
