Nick Burt is director of communication for The Church at Rock Creek in Little Rock, Ark. He recently offered his input on why the church selected the AJA Helo Plus Streaming Encoder/Recorder. “Sunday mornings get pretty crazy, especially when other issues pop up and take our attention. Having the built-in scheduler, I can take that off my plate and know the live stream is just going to happen,” he says.
The Church at Rock Creek in is back to live streaming services after recording fully produced separate services to broadcast Sunday morning. Beginning in early 2023, the church will begin live streaming with the AJA Helo Plus which streams through dual streaming services. Not just SDI or HDMI, but both.
Paul Turner is the product manager for Helo Plus at AJA Video Systems. “The advantage there is reliability,” he says. “It doesn’t matter how much production value you put into a production if it can’t go outside the walls, you’re wasting a lot of effort.”
Helo Plus features a scheduler which interacts with many calendars including Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook calendars. Once it’s set up, it can start automatically.
Also, the system streams and records onto a USB drive. Helo Plus can also interact with other AJA products like the Ki Pro recorders, allowing it to live stream and record all the separate camera feeds to do a later edit.
This interview with Turner and Burt explains more.
