ADJ Inno Color Beam Z7 moving head fixture
ADJ is offering users the flexibility of a combined beam and stage wash effect with one of its latest products, the Inno Color Beam Z7. With its compact size—compared to larger fixtures, such as the ADJ Inno Color Beam Z19—this powerful and feature-packed moving head is perfect for use in smaller worship spaces.
The adaptable Inno Color Beam Z7 gives users a bright, powerful fixture that, by combining motorized zoom (producing a variable 10-degree to 60-degree beam angle) with seven of the latest quad-color Osram Ostar 10-watt LEDs, lets them create both tight punchy beams and broad wash effects. This makes the Inno Color Beam Z7 ideal for bathing church walls or décor features in atmospheric color, while also providing the flexibility to create tight colored beams as part of an active lightshow. For washing a sanctuary in vibrant colors, 64 built-in color macros enable users to easily select the right RGBW mix to achieve their desired effect. Due to the variety of performances and service types found within houses of worship, sometimes full-on powerful light isn't the desired effect; with five selectable dimmer curve modes, users can choose the setting that is most appropriate for the situation—whether it's a stage performance that needs bright, eye-catching colors or a more low-key service requiring a more relaxed ambience.
A large backlit LCD display with four buttons enables selection between the Z7's three operating modes—DMX Controlled, Sound Active and Show Mode—as well as easy control over DMX addressing. Multiple Z7 units can also be linked together for Master/Slave operation and both pan and tilt movement can also be easily inverted to give a symmetrical, synchronized professional-looking lightshow, without the hassle of DMX programming. The inversion feature can also be used to set up two fixtures—one of the floor and the other hung from above—so that they both move in the same direction. This allows users to achieve a professional-looking lightshow for their congregation, without the complexities of DMX, making the Z7 ideal for amateur lighting operators within the congregation who may not yet be familiar with the technicalities of DMX programming. IEC in/out connectors also mean that the power supply for multiple fixtures can be daisy-chained (four at 120V) safely to reduce the number of cables needed to set up a lightshow.
Due to the likelihood of the Z7 being used both as a hanging unit mounted on a lighting rig and as up-lighting sitting on the stage floor, the LCD menu features a 180-degree inverse mode. This ensures that users can easily see the menu to select their operational mode and change DMX settings, no matter which way up the unit is positioned, adding to the adaptability of the fixture. The unit, which offers 220-degree tilt and 540-degree pan, uses stepper motors with micro-stepping to allow 16-bit fine pan and tilt control; giving users additional precision when it comes to movement and positioning. This is useful for lighting technicians who need to set accurate lighting positions to perfectly illuminate venue features or performers within a large space.
With its compact size ... this powerful and feature-packed moving head is perfect for use in smaller worship spaces.
Both wide color washes for stages and auditorium features as well as tight moving beams for on-trend visual effects are likely to be required by modern church lighting operators. The ADJ Z7 provides both of these effects from a compact and affordable fixture that brings professional beam effects into the price-range of small to medium churches for the first time.
