Sony’s latest addition to its PTZ camera line-up, the SRG-X40UH, is now available for shipping in the United States and Canada. The camera is designed for remote communication and monitoring in a wide range of markets such as worship, corporate, education, healthcare.
“The SRG-X40UH adopts a 4K Exmor R CMOS image sensor and delivers high-quality images in 4K alongside powerful zoom capabilities with a wide viewing angle, UVC and HDMI connectivity,” according to Sony’s announcement. “With simple functionality and interface connection, it’s easy to connect and use for many live video applications, including web conferencing, with simple plug n play USB cable connection.”
The SRG-X40UH was recognized by Church Production Magazine as one of the ‘Top 5 Products for Churches at InfoComm 2022.’ The announcement by CPM states, “Sony camera sensors are world-renowned for producing deep, sharp, life-like images. That’s why they’re found in many cameras from other brands. Sony’s new SRG-X40UH could be considered a mid-market PTZ camera, but you’d never know it by looking at the Sony imaging. It offers 4K 30p resolution via HDMI or 4K 60p resolution via UVC connectivity, and 40x zoom at full HD and 30x zoom at 4K. Optical zoom capability is 20x. The announcement from Sony says it’s an affordable camera that offers simple functionality and interface connections. Simple, affordable, and high quality. Sounds like it’s built with the bulk of the church market in mind.”

The SRG-X40UH, with its UVC and HDMI connections and PoE+ support, can be integrated into existing systems with minimal cabling, and remotely controlled through a VISCA/VISCA over IP command.
The SRG-X40UH is now available for a suggested price of $2,199.
