Elation launches a new era of high-impact beam lights with the Proteus Radius, a compact, high intensity IP66 Beam FX fixture powered by a Solid-State Phosphor-Converted (SSPC) light engine.
“Elation garnered industry acclaim in 2017 as the first company to incorporate Phosphor source technology into a moving head and now the company has brought the revolutionary technology to the next level,” according to the company’s announcement. “The Proteus Radius unleashes a realm of creative possibilities, projecting narrow and intensely powerful beams that reach astounding distances. Its efficient 100W SSPC light engine delivers an ultra-intense 0.9˚ beam that slices through with unparalleled brilliance, even across vast spans of space.”
Designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, the beams combine with a full complement of design features that allow designers to compose an array of aerial effects. Proteus Radius features an SSPC engine, which produces a dense beam similar to a laser yet without the associated risks and regulatory challenges. Certified for use worldwide and in all environments, it requires no safety inspections and can be operated without a variance (permit). Highly efficient with little heat produced, the SSPC engine is designed for a long lamp life 10,000 hours to keep replacement and maintenance costs low.
Protected by Elation’s Proteus technology, its aluminum shell and advanced marine-grade coating provide durability and protection against the elements. An IP66 rating and compact design mean the Radius can to anywhere creativity calls.
Endless 360-degree pan and tilt movement for animations can fill any space while the included FX package features an array of useful effects. It also features two gobo wheels housing a selection of 13 interchangeable-rotating/indexing metal gobos and 29 static-stamped metal gobos.
The Radius offers four prisms divided between dual overlapping planes to split beams in virtually unlimited combinations for eye-catching aerials. Prism macros are included for programming ease. Dual frosts soften light when needed while dimming is smooth without flickering.
“CMY color mixing and a 25-position color wheel offer virtually unlimited color options, a system that is lightning fast for immediate color transitions and instant color bumps. Transitions are seamless while the motorized focus ensures pinpoint accuracy. Light can be further manipulated using the digital shutter and strobe,” the release concludes.
