Highview Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., was recently in the market for a personal monitor system while conducting an upgrade to its FOH console. Technical Director Brandon Headley sought out the counsel of Spectrum Sound in Nashville, Tenn., whose audio specialists introduced him to Movek's myMix system.
Familiar with other in-ear monitoring technologies, Headley wanted a system that was easy for musicians to operate, and that would not result in listening fatigue. Today, the church boasts 12 myMix units, a powered Cisco switch and an IEX-16L expander.
“All of our instrumentalists from all of our campuses would rather play on the myMix system over any other system because of ease of use and sound quality,” Headley reports. He notes that the stage volume has dramatically decreased and vocalists and musicians say that they can hear exactly what they need to hear. Each user is able to customize tone, reverb, panning and volume, leaving Headley to focus on his job: providing great FOH sound.
