Ultra-compact speaker features increased SPL and new transducer technology
L-Acoustics has announced the release of their new Kiva II ultra-compact line source speaker at the 2016 InfoComm show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Designed to integrate with the company's other line array systems as a front fill, down fill, or stand alone system, the Kiva II brings an all new design and attractive features to the compact loudspeaker market.
While users might be familiar with the original Kiva loudspeaker, the company says this second-generation keeps the elegance of its predecessor but the comparison stops there. Built with L-Acoustic's Wavefront Sculpture Technology, the Kiva II features a new K-shaped coplanar transducer arrangement which the company says generates long-throw, symmetric horizontal coverage without lobes over the entire frequency range.
Weighing in at only 31 pounds, the loudspeaker was redesigned with reinforced weather resistance, new rigging accessories, and increased SPL due to its 16 ohm impedance, significantly increasing the amplifier density and efficiency.
The Kiva II will start shipping in late 2016.
