Kramer is introducing its new Kramer Control Platform at the 2016 InfoComm Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Billed as a comprehensive, cloud-based solution for control and analytics in any commercial environment, the platform lets users navigate to any room in an organization controlling AV systems, infrastructures and devices, HVAC, lights, shades, alarms, security, and video conferencing.
The Kramer Control Platform is comprised of three modules: Manager, Builder, and an Analytics dashboard, with options for public, private, and cloud implementation. In the Manager module, users can define room layouts along with editing and configuring control systems from anywhere in the world. A preinstalled library of smart device drivers gives a drag-and-drop function, allowing for fast and intuitive construction.
Kramer's release states, "The Analytics Dashboard is a ground-breaking addition, automatically gathering all control data and generating business analytics such as device performance, room usage, operational efficiency, energy usage, and more." The data gathering features are optional and can be enabled or disabled based on user preference.
At the heart of the system is the Smart Unit, which includes universal I/O ports supporting IR, RS-232, relays, and GPIO connections. The Smart Units sync to the cloud and will automatically update themselves when new updates become available for system support. Smart Units are controllable via a customizable interface on one of the company's Kramer Control touch panel, any third-party tablet, or over the web with BYOD (Bring-Your-Own-Device). Additionally, Kramer reps say that because of the non-hierarchal distributed architecture of the Smart Units, the system will remain up and running in the case of any single point failure.
