British company JoeCo has released it's new BBWR24B model of BlueBox at the 2017 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. Billed as an affordable, compact addition to its BlueBox line of products, this new device as a workstation interface, recorder, and backup solution.
Offering 24 balanced line inputs, 16 Adat Lightpipe inputs with SMUXII support for higher sample rates and 24 balanced outs, the BBWR24B will back-up source recordings in real time, providing a safeguard against unexpected DAW freeze and failure. Each BBWR24B can carry up to 24 channels of 24bit/96kHz audio in both directions simultaneously over USB 2.0. All local recordings are standard broadcast WAV files on universally accepted FAT32 disk format. The USB 2.0 host interface supports both Windows and Mac drivers with a locally generated zero latency monitor mix for monitoring during overdubs.
Along with the new BBWR24B, JoeCo has significantly upgraded its BlueBox control app, adding a variety of features including control over input parameters, support for in-studio talkback and monitor switching environments, as well as various routing and mode selections for live, studio, and mix down situations.
