Ustream announces that the company has been acquired by IBM. In a statement released by Brad Hunstable, Founder and CEO, Ustream, he says
IBM has acquired Ustream to extend the video capabilities of IBM Cloud to help clients deliver live streaming video anywhere, anytime, and on any device.
He continues, “Since 2007, Ustream's mission has been to make video streaming technology available to everyone and today is a major milestone in Ustream's history.”

The goal of combining the two companies is to create an industry-leading cloud based platform that allows clients to customize and control the viewing experience for their audience using Ustream's open video platform, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Software Development Kits (SDKs).
Hunstable says, “Ustream will now be able to leverage the security, scale and reliability IBM is known for, as we work to grow our portfolio. As a customer of Ustream, you will see no immediate change in the way you access our support and services.
