DPA Microphones announced the released of its new d:vice MMA-A Digital Audio Interface at the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Designed with live and mobile journalists in mind, the company says this device offers high-quality audio recording and streaming capabilities suitable for many applications.
The two-channel d:vice MMA-A features a two-channel microphone preamp and A/D converter offering mono, dual, and stereo recording on any iOS device, Mac, or PC computer. This allows for various situations such as dual interviews, stereo ambience recording, and much more all from a single, pocket-size device.
Control of the interface comes through a dedicated DPA app, allowing users to store gain settings, eq adjustments, and more. The interface comes with interchangeable lighting and USB cables for connectivity. It also includes two of the company's MicroDot inputs, allowing all DPA miniature microphones to be connected.
With many journalists today using their smartphones or other compact devices to capture stories, this interface provides increased audio quality, recording, and streaming capabilities fit for music, dialog, on-location filming, and both live and recorded broadcasting.
