Digico has unveiled its new SD12 digital console at the 2017 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California. Billed as a compact mixing solution, the company says this console encapsulates the best features of the flagship SD series while maintaining the workflow and ease of the recent S series consoles.
The SD12 features 72 input channels with full processing, 36 aux/group busses with full processing, a 12 x 8 matrix with full processing, LR/LCR buss with full processing, 12 stereo FX units, 16 Graphic EQs, 119 Dynamic EQs, 119 multiband compressors and 119 DiGi-TuBes, 12 Control Groups (VCA) and SD Series Stealth Core 2 software, making it compatible with all other SD Series sessions.
With dual, 15-inch touchscreen monitors, the visual layout provides an expansive display with full parameters and up to 24 individual channels visible at anytime. The ability to split the screens into channel and master bus layouts gives unlimited routing and user definable options. The screen layout also affords a high level of metering feedback, such as input gain, gain reduction, and gate action simultaneously.
Onboard I/O options include eight local mic/line inputs, eight local line inputs, eight AES/EBU in/out for digital sources along with two MADI ports and a single UB MADI connection for recording up to 48 tracks at 48kHz. Options for expansion include Dante network cards, Waves SoundGrid integration, and an upgrade to Digico's Optocore network protocol.
