The Lawrenceville, Ga.-based, 12Stone Church has chosen Arri L-Series LED Fresnels for their lighting upgrade. The megachurch is using Arri L10-C and L7-Cs to help with color mixing. 12Stone Church welcomes more than 17,000 attendees weekly. The church broadcasts its Central Campus service to seven other campuses and extends IMAG services. Michael Henson, is the church’s production engineer and says they were looking for lighting fixtures to complement the fast-paced growth of the church and provide excellent broadcast lighting for high-quality video. “After extensive discussion and debates, we finally zeroed in on LED lighting to address all the lighting needs of our church. Arri L-Series fixtures have effortlessly met all these complicated needs.”
“Our main campus facility is a 270-degree room. When it comes to our illumination needs, we have to light up the front stage as well as all the way around the sides. We have audiences in all of these different sections. Besides, the lighting should look good both during live performances and on camera,” says Henson, who oversees implementation of lighting and video systems for all 12Stone campuses.
Arri’s state of the art L10-C is the largest and brightest of its L-Series fixtures. Powered by 10” Fresnel lens and robust output capacity, L10-C is designed for more distant fixture placement and natural illumination.
One of the major reasons behind church leader’s decision to choose Arri LEDs is consistent intensity of light that does not flicker, even from a distance. "We were looking closely to see if it is going to have an aggressive fall-off the further you step back. It didn’t with Arri LED, especially with Arri Fresnel fixtures,” notes Henson.
“It has the horsepower for the distance we need. It has the coverage we need; it looks amazing on camera... Arri has had a good reputation for a very long time. They build their LED fixtures from the ground up. You can tell with cheaper LED fixtures: the quality of lamp life, color mixing and saturation are not that great. Arri LED did not even look like LED, there is this perfect white light coming out of it. The beauty of it - it has full color mixing. All the colors look incredible: lavender, blue, red, orange, tungsten orange, daytime white. Anything you want."
